We've all been a member of a handful of Facebook groups.
Whether filled with friends and family, teammates, classmates, or other like-minded folks, somewhere during our time spent on Facebook, we've decided to join a group. Or many groups. But now, we are presented with the opportunity to join a group created by and managed by a brand.
Think of it as the pinnacle of brand-ambassadorship.
So, for us marketers, we are presented with the opportunity to uniquely connect with our customers in a way that we haven't quite seen before.
But what does this mean for businesses?
- Higher engagement (members will often receive notifications whenever there is activity in the group)
- Peer-to-peer support (reduce the stress on your customer service staff and let other, loyal customers/fans answer the questions)
- Create a community (this is where the brand loyalists and the superfans live)
- Maintain control (now this is the official fan club)
So doit. This is the next must-have in digital marketing. I gaurentee it. Plus, creating a group via Facebook pages couldn't be simpler.
To create a group:
Navigate to Page
Click Settings in the top right-hand corner
Click Edit Page in the left-hand column
Click Add a Tab at the bottom of the page
Then, navigate back to the page and select Groups on the left-hand column
Click Create Group button (already have a group? click the "Link Your Group" button)
